We invite you to let yourself get carried away and make your own unique travel postcard that will last forever. At the same time, we want you to discover a different side of Lima, an adventure that takes place in El Callao.
Callao is an urban space of impressive architectural beauty and abundant history, abandoned for many years, and recently rescued by a social project that, thanks to art and the new job opportunities for the local community, has managed to restore one of the most elegant areas of the old Lima.
Callao’s bay was one of the most important ports during the viceroyalty and continues to be so to this day for Latin America. Its historic center holds endless cobbled streets, colonial houses, carved wooden balconies, and old fashioned iron street lights. All are witnesses of a history that began to unfold in the sixteenth century and that today gives us a space loaded with culture and local color.
There are over 35 facades and 18 walls with graffiti artworks, mosaics, and murals. Musicians and singers dance through the streets like minstrels of the Middle Ages. There we can travel back in time to the imposing Royal Felipe Fortress, built in the eighteenth century, to defend the port from pirate attacks.
It is a space rich in art. Here you can breathe freedom, hope, and a promising future. You will live the history of a rescued site, and especially for Christians, this remains an extremely interesting place for photographs.
We will finish our adventure with a delicious ceviche for lunch in a corner of this epic place.
