Visit the imperial city of Arequipa. Built with ashlar, a white volcanic stone, this peculiar city has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Stroll through its cobblestone streets, monasteries and delight in its outstanding cuisine.
Explore the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world. Its impressive geography makes this remote place one of Peru’s best kept secrets. Furthermore, its lands are inhabited by people who jealously guard their ancient traditions and customs.
Explore Peru’s second largest city, known as the “white city,” due to the volcanic rock used to build many of its historic buildings.
Stroll through its streets and visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina. This enigmatic place is impressive for its colorful colonial architecture and for the secrets that, for several centuries, have been hidden behind its walls.
In the evening, enjoy Arequipa’s gastronomy in a special place we have reserved for you.
By land, get from Arequipa to the Colca, one of the deepest canyons in the world. Along the way, you will cross different ecological levels, beautiful lagoons and the Pampa de Arrieros. Observe the impressive volcanoes Sabancaya, Misti, and Chachani until you reach the extensive plain of Pampa Cañahuas, located in the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca. Here you will be able to observe vicuñas in their natural state, a camelid that has one of the finest wools in the world, and parihuanas or Andean flamingos, the same bird that inspired the Peruvian flag.
Discover the Colca, a valley of incomparable natural wonders and history.
In the skies, the flight of the majestic Andean condor reigns, and we will observe it from a viewpoint. Here lies one of the deepest canyons in the world and there are still traces of a past established more than ten thousand years ago.
Pre-Inca tribes covered more than eight thousand hectares with agricultural terraces carved into the slopes of the canyon, a spectacular engineering work that characterizes the Colca to this day.
Upon the arrival of the Spaniards, these ethnic groups were reduced to 14 villages, each with its own plaza and church, a mixture of European architectural trends and ingenious decorative contributions of the native population, giving way to an attractive Andean baroque style.
