Huchuyqosco
Over two days we will walk in ancient Inca trails, go through mountain passes, walking closely to beautiful lakes, overlooking some of the most impressive nevado peaks of the Andes to reach this important but little explored, archaeological center, located on top of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is an ideal trip for families or people who have little time but want to experience the adventure of camping in the Andes.

Day 1:
.
In the morning we drive to the lagoon Piuray in Cuper Alto community. Here our horses and horsemen will be waiting to carry our equipment. Once ready, we start walking through an old Inca trail, ascending by a wide valley to Qoricocha lagoon, where we have lunch. After crossing the gap XX (4450 meters / 14600 feet), we arrive to the former quarry where the Incas took the stones that were used for the construction of Huchuy Qosqo. Our camp will be waiting ready next to the quarry, with a delicious happy hour to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Day 2:In the morning, we will have time to visit the ancient Inca quarry where we see huge stones worked by the Incas but never moved to their final destination. After enjoying a healthy breakfast, we descend a ravine with Inca ruins and lots of flora up to Huchuy Q’osqo, home of the great Inca Viracocha. Along the way we will have a spectacular view of the snow-capped Chicon and Sawasiray. Close to the ruins, a nice picnic will be waiting for us. Finally, 4X4 trucks will be waiting to take us back to Cusco...Terra Explorer Peru - Certifications
