Salcantay to Machu Picchu

This outstanding trek ambles along the base of the massive hulk of Salkantay (elevation: 6,271m/20569ft. above sea level), one of the most impressive and highest peaks in the southern Andes of Perú.  In ancient times, it was revered as one of the Sacred Apus, or Tutelary Spirits, of Cusco. Along the way, our route takes in a series of lesser known Inka archaeological sites and remote Quechua communities before eventually merging with the 4-day, more well known, "Inka Trail to Machu Picchu".
