Itinerary
DAY 01  
Early in the morning our private transportation will pick you up from your hotel in order to begin our trip on the road towards Yura, northeast from Arequipa, with the Colca Valley (3500 meters) as our destination. This route will take us by the snowcapped peak of Chachani, and then we will ascend via the grasslands of Cañahuas and Tocra where we will see herds of vicuñas, llamas and alpacas. We will continue climbing until we reach Pata Pampa (4950 meters) whereupon we will descend until we reach Chivay. We will eat lunch here and then enjoy the Calera Baths, hot springs that reach 50°C and are said to have medicinal properties. We will continue our trip to Yanque, the town after Chivay, which is located on the left side of the canyon. In Yanque we find our hotel and have the afternoon free. In the evening we will have dinner and enjoy a folkloric dance show.
DAY 02
After breakfast our private transportation will take us to the Cruz del Condor, a natural look out point from which one appreciates the depth of the Canyon, more than 1200 meters, and the majestic flight of the condors. During our return to Chivay we will have the opportunity to appreciate other look out points, ancient constructions and typical churches, as well as seeing the inhabitants of these towns who retain their traditional dress and customs. After eating lunch we will do a hike around the Valley; in the afternoon we will have the option of choosing between another hike or having the afternoon free. In the evening we will again gather in order to enjoy an exquisite dinner.
DAY 03
Today we will travel on the right side of the canyon in order to visit the town of Coporaque; from there we will do a 2 hour hike in order to arrive at the Uyu-Uyu ruins. These ruins were the ancient town of Yanque and here it is possible to distinguish the layout of the ancient Pre-Incan city. We will walk another hour in order to return to Coporaque. After eating lunch our private transportation will take us back to Arequipa.
