Itinerary
DAY 01  
Early in the morning our private transportation will pick you up from your hotel in order to begin our trip on the road towards Yura, northeast from Arequipa with the Colca Valley (3500 meters) as our destination. We will pass through the Reserva Nacional de Salinas and Aguada Blanca and then ascend towards the puno, traveling through the grasslands of Cañahuas and Tocra, where we will see herds of vicuñas, llamas and alpacas, as well as the stone forests of Pueruña and Sumbay where there are also ancient cave paintings. Here we will eat a delicious boxed lunch and continue our trip encircling the Ampato (6320 meters) and Sabancaya (5976 meters) peaks. We will drive through the Callalli Castle, then Yanque, the town after Chivay. In the afternoon you will have free time to enjoy the beautiful views and the hot springs. We will spend the night in Yanque.
DAY 02
After breakfast we will continue our trip. We will arrive at the Cruz del Condor, a look out point about 1200 meters above the river, where numerous terraces, constructed by the ancient inhabitants of the valley, surround us. The Cruz del Condor is a natural observation point where you can appreciate the extreme depth of the Colca Canyon and the flight of the impressive Andean condor. During our return to Chivay we will continue passing through the beautiful towns that make up the valley, visiting their ancient churches as well as observing the people who live there whom retain their traditional dress and customs. After lunch we will begin our trip back to Arequipa via a different route, passing through the look out point of the Patapampa Volcanoes.
